So Far Away - Out Now!

Will and the Starlight releases new track ‘So Far Away’ on Friday 6th August 2021.

A feel-good track about feeling locked down during COVID restrictions, when we couldn’t travel and just wanting to head west to the Atlantic coast… with friends to enjoy everything that’s good about British summers… crimson sunsets, surfing, wild swimming in the turquoise sea, festivals on the beach, beers and local bands. And the longing to just be free to do those things after a year and a half of the nation being restricted due to the pandemic.

“Like so many people, I was sad when I started writing this track, but I kind of wanted to write something joyful. Looking back to look forward if you know what I mean?”

“I missed my friends, good times – we’re social creatures after all and making good experiences.”

“I think most people can relate to this and now things are moving back towards normality, the country is opening up again and thankfully, these things are just around the corner.”

So Far Away fuses arp synths with pulsing synth pad washes, driving 90’s beats and 90’s chilled house pianos.

The music video was shot by Ben Battell in Cornwall and tells the story of the song, filmed in a dreamy cinematic vision with model Becca Hall and friends.
